Dispatch response times vary by location; Columbia proper typically under 90 minutes for standard service and 25–45 minutes for many emergencies, surrounding communities typically 25–60 minutes during business hours, and rural county addresses typically 45–90 minutes. Emergency dispatch runs 24/7 across the entire service area with vulnerability triage prioritizing life-safety concerns, no-heat and no-cool situations during extreme weather, and households with infants, elderly, or medical equipment dependencies.
