LP-specific installation requirements: LP piping sized per NFPA 58 tables (different from natural gas due to lower BTU content per cubic foot), two-stage regulator installation at the tank (first-stage from tank to inlet regulator, second-stage at the appliance for final pressure regulation to 10″WC manifold pressure), LP-appropriate materials and joints, and coordination with the customer’s LP tank supplier for tank-side work.
Standby generators (8–22 kW residential) require dedicated gas piping sized for generator BTU consumption (typically 100,000–280,000 BTU/hr depending on generator size and load). Generator installations coordinate with electrical contractor for transfer switch installation. City of Columbia requires a mechanical permit for gas piping installation and modification. PolarCore pulls the permit under Mechanical Contractor License #MCL-2016-04187, schedules the required inspections through City of Columbia Building and Site Development, and includes the permit fee in the installation quote. Outside city limits (rural Boone County and other service area counties), permits are pulled through the applicable county building department.
